Analysis of NOAA Storm Database and Its Effects Across UNITED STATES
Severe weather events such as storm often cause problems in communities both in public and economic aspects. When such calamities strike, they may result in injuries, damage in properties, and sometimes even bring fatalities, thus proventing such outcome is one of government’s major concern. This project explores and analizes the data from U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) storm database. The database tracks characteristics of major weather events that occured in United States, including when and where they occur, as well as estimated number of casualties and property damages. In this analysis, our main objectives are to analyze which type of events that happened acrros the United States are most harmful with respect to human populationa and also which type of events have the greatest economic impact.
