This work was done for the "Reproducible Research" second course project, as part of the [Data Science specialization](https://www.coursera.org/specializations/jhu-data-science) on Coursera. The basic goal of this assignment was to explore the NOAA Storm Database and answer some basic questions about severe weather events. In particular, we wanted to investigate which types of events are the most harmful with respect to population health and economic consequences.
