Text Mining: Exploratory Data Analysis
This analysis is for the Coursera Data Science Specialization Capstone class. The purpose of this report is to perform exploratory data analysis on text data and to become comfortable with this unique type of data. The data is from a corpus called HC Corpora (www.corpora.heliohost.org). The corpus consists of three english text files: blogs, news stories, and tweets.
Tooth Growth Data Analysis
This study aims to determine if delivery method and/or dosage of vitamin C affect tooth growth in guinea pigs. The dataset comes from C. I. Bliss from The Statistics of Bioassay (1952). Where the dataset is the length of odontoblasts (teeth) in each of 10 guinea pigs at each of three dose levels of Vitamin C (0.5, 1, and 2 mg) with each of two delivery methods (orange juice or ascorbic acid). We will use statistical inference to make conclusions about the data.
Distribution of Exponentials and the Central Limit Theorem
The purpose of this study is to compare the distribution between exponentials and the normal distribution as defined in the Central Limit Theorem. We use a sample of forty exponentials simulated one thousand times. We will compare by examining the mean, variance and distribution.
Analyzing U.S. Weather by Human Health and Economic Damage
This study looks at U.S weather data collected from 1950 to 2011. It focuses on the impacts of weather against human health and economic damage. The four principle metrics this study will judge weather events by are human injuries, human fatalities, property damage and crop damage.
