Severe Weather Events: Health and Economic Impacts in the United States
Analysis of the NOAA Storm Database (1950–2011) to determine which types of severe weather events are most harmful to population health (fatalities + injuries) and which have the greatest economic consequences (property + crop damage). Tornadoes are by far the most dangerous to human life, while floods cause the highest total economic damage. The report follows the Coursera Reproducible Research course requirements.
