Faced with the challenge of establishing a regional mapping of anthromes as a tool for territorial planning, this study focused on analyzing land use and cover data produced in Brazil by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics. The main objective was to identify essential data characteristics to serve as geospatial information for regional mapping. We performed exploratory analysis, data mining, manipulation, and plotting. Subsequently, we created static and interactive maps to analyze data spatialization and cartography construction, followed by validation and uncertainty studies to assess product quality. The results demonstrate that the data provided sufficient information for mapping construction. Additionally, statistical analyses confirmed the mapping’s alignment with national and international indices, affirming the quality of the regional mapping of land use and cover anthromes. We established a geocomputational structure in R for national-scale application. Moreover, as free code, this structure can be adapted to other territories, enabling replication and analysis in various contexts.
