This is a heatmap that considers the poverty rates in relation to the total number of robberies reported nationally for each year from 2021 to 2023. I wanted to see if there was any general nationwide crime data as opposed to a specific type of crime that I could compare with recent poverty rates however, the FBI database has only published data up until 2019. So, based on this data, there is no clear trend between the two variables, as robberies can be influenced by many other social factors.

This chart is a scatter plot depicting the violent crime trends in the US from 2009 to 2019. There was almost a trend of decline for a couple of years until crime spiked back up around 2016. However, the crimes reported began to decrease again.
