Generalized Additive Models (GAMs) extend linear models by allowing non-linear smooth functions of predictors while maintaining interpretability

This project analyzes NBA per-game player statistics from Basketball-Reference from 2015–2025 to study how three-point shooting has changed over time. The report looks at whether the increase in three-point attempts is concentrated among guards or spread across more positions, and whether higher three-point volume has been matched by better shooting efficiency.
