This project offers an in-depth analysis of the performance of countries in the Paris 2024 Olympics, moving beyond the traditional medal count to explore alternative frameworks and metrics for assessing success. The analysis begins by scraping and tidying medal tally data from the BBC, presenting insights into the performance of the top nations. Various performance indicators, such as medals per capita, weighted medal counts, team efficiency, and economic factors, are introduced to provide a more balanced and equitable comparison of Olympic achievements.

This report analyzes voter demographics in the independent electorate of Wentworth during the 2022 Australian federal election. It focuses on identifying electorates won by independent candidates, exploring demographic characteristics specific to Wentworth, assessing the Indigenous population, computing referendum votes, and comparing them with broader state demographics. Data from the Australian Electoral Commission and the Australian Bureau of Statistics reveal age, income, and gender distribution patterns. Despite data granularity challenges, an attempt is made to determine the proportion of Indigenous and Torres Strait Islanders. Comparative analysis with state-wide voting statistics aims to gauge the district's representativeness. This study contributes to understanding voter demographics and informs future research in political science and election politics.
