Requesting the API using the taxa names directly may miss records if the taxa name is not recognized. This code shows how to correct for this by first running the API to request BacDive ID numbers then rerunning the API to pull the data. Some taxa are not recognized by either LPSN or BacDive, so now there is a notation in the table to preserve the fact that a request was made and not successful.
