Spatiotemporal Analysis of Baseball’s Best Hitters
This project is my final project for STAT 79000 (Case Seminar) and my graduation project for my master's degree that I completed under the supervision of Professor Dana Sylvan. It is an extension of my project from STAT 78700. In this project, I analyze the point pattern data of the batted balls of various players for different seasons and understand their offensive performance through the analysis of heat maps. The procedures for generating heat maps and the analysis from this project were presented during the 10th MathSport International Conference in Budapest, Hungary. Spatial Analysis of Baseball’s Best Hitters
This work is my final project from STAT 787 (Statistical Models for Spatial Data). In this project, I examine the offensive performance of the Major League Baseball players with spatial data and identify spatial patterns in the ways they hit during games. In addition, I analyzed the second properties of the point pattern data set of the batted balls by looking at G-, F-, K-, and L-functions.
Drybeans Data Analysis
This work is my final project from STAT 71700 (Multivariate Analysis). In this project, I fit several classification models (LDA, QDA, KNN and classification tree model) and a clustering model (K-Means) to the dry beans data set. After fitting these classification models, I computed the misclassification error for each model and determined the model with the best predictive accuracy.
Analyzing Effects of Race, Gender, and Political Ideologies in the Choice of Presidential Candidates in 2020 Election
This is my final project from STAT 70700 (General Linear Models II) at Hunter College. In this project, I used the survey data from Democracy Fund Voter Study Group and fit the logistic regression model in order to analyze the effects of demographic information of voters on their choice of candidates in the 2020 United States presidential election. In addition, I evaluated the performance of this model and compared it to the profit model.
Final Voter Data Report
Research Question: How do Democrats and Republicans differ their perspectives on the important economic issues of the country such as poverty, taxes, the budget deficit and social security?
Skills Drill III
Skills drill on statistical tests that lets me find the relationship between the variables in the data.
Testing Relationship between Categorical Variables Using Chi-Square Test
Testing relationship between two categorical variables from the voter data using Chi-Square Test
Investigating Continuous Outcomes
Compared liberals and conservatives from the voter data on their feelings towards immigrants based on the averages. Used sampling distributions to test the Central Limit Theorem. Conducted T-test to see to compare sample means.
Skills Drill II
I analyzed how people with different perceived likelihoods of contracting COVID-19, differ in their household size, and face mask wearing behavior.
Skills Drill II (Practice)
Practice for Skills Drill II using a health data
Voter Data Investigation with Data from 2019
I compared white and Asian respondents on several important issues on immigration and the nation's health care system using tables and charts. I also cleaned and organized data before analyzing it.
Voter Data Investigation (Update)
Comparing the male and female respondents on several factors from the voter data. Histograms are used to compare the continuous variables. The order of categorical responses have been rearranged.
Voter Data Investigation Assignment
Comparing the male and female respondents from the voter data on several factors using table() and prop.table() commands
Skills Drill Point Recovery Assignment / DATA333
I selected two groups of people from the voter data and compared them on several different factors
