Flight delays are more than just an inconvenience—they disrupt travel plans, waste resources, and cost the aviation industry billions each year. In this project, we analyzed over one million U.S. flights from 2019 to 2023 to uncover the key causes of delays. We explored patterns by time, location, and airline, and built predictive models to estimate delay durations. Our goal is to turn raw data into actionable insights that help reduce delays and improve efficiency in air travel. With better understanding, smarter decisions can be made—by airlines, airports, and even passengers.
