I analyzed the spatial distribution of qualitative aspects of New York City neighborhoods based on the proportion of Airbnb listings in each neighborhood that contain a keyword like "safe". We see that a high proportion of listings in Staten Island (southwest map area) neighborhoods contain “safe” in their description while less than 10% of listings in most Manhattan and North Brooklyn neighborhoods are called “safe”. With nearly 40,000 listings in the dataset, this is a significant observation.
