Identifying Protein Abnormalities in Down Syndrome Mice
Project from a statistical genomics class: implement multiple testing to using a logistic regression model to determine statistically significant differences between protein expression levels in the three identified groups of mice using data from a 2014 study. Results should identify the effects of the drug treatment Memantine on protein expression levels in Down Syndrome mice and provide recommendations for proteins to target in future treatments. Results will also be compared with the published results from the original study, which used different analysis methods to identify differences between groups.
Survival Analysis of Heart Failure Patients: Student Report
The aim of this report is to evaluate the impact of age, anemia, diabetes, creatinine phosphokinase, ejection fraction (%), high blood pressure, serum creatinine, serum sodium, sex, and smoking on heart failure patient mortality, using the Kaplan-Meier estimator and the Cox Proportional Hazard Model. The data is sourced from the Heart Failure Data Set, pubicly available in the UCI Machine Learning Repository. This report is not intended to contradict or supersede any previous publications associated with the heart failure data, it is merely an academic exercise where I attempt to apply survival analysis tools and methods to better understand the factors that contribute to risk of mortality in heart failure patients
