An analysis of the NOAA Database is conducted to establish causes of harm to human health and the economy. The events that cause the most harm to human health are identified as the events that cause the five greatest number of both injuries and fatalities. The event that cause the greatest damage to the economy are identified by ranking the events that cause greater than $10 billion in damages to crops and property.
