Severe weather events can cause both population health and economic problems. This report analyzed the data from the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to identify the events that are most impactful to the population health and economy. The impact was measured by the total number of fatalities and injuries for the population health, and the total dollar amount of property and crop damage for economic impact. Tornado is identified as the event with the greatest population health impact, and flooding is for the economic impact.
