Random Forest Prediction for Fitness Devices
Using devices such as `Jawbone Up`, `Nike FuelBand`, and `Fitbit` it is now possible to collect a large amount of data about personal activity relatively inexpensively.
Verification of Hypothesis About How the Change of Dosage and Type Supplement for Vitamin C Affects the Tooth Growth in Guinea Pigs
In this document is reported the second part of the peer-graded assignment for the Statistical Inference Course. In this part of the project the data relative to "The Effect of Vitamin C on Tooth Growth in Guinea Pigs" included in the R dataset `ToothGrowth` will be analysed to see if its two main parameter, dosage and type supplement affect the length of the tooth growth in Guinea Pigs.
How Central Limit Theorem Applies to Exponential Distribution
The exponential distribution will be investigated and compared with the Central Limit Theorem. The exponential distribution will be simulated in R with the command `rexp(...)` and compared with the relative theoretical values (mean, variance and normal distribution).
Fatalities and Damages for Weather Events (Reproducible Research: Peer Assignment 2)
The used data and documentation are realtive to US NOAA recorded weather events. The events from 1950 through 2011 are associated to fatalities, injuries, property and crop damages. Different issues relative to the labelling of the events have required an extra reworking to associate them to the original labels as in documentation. Similar problem but in minor scale has been found in the expenses multipliers that included wrong values. The rows with only zeros have been taken out as not relevant to the final count. Finally a new table with the total counts of harmful events and damage costs has been created associated with the correct events as in documentation. From the last table two bar plots have been created, representing the events that caused more fatalities/injuries and property/crop damages sorted in decreasing order.
