NCI-MD Ancestry biomarker comparison
We have data from participants of the National Cancer Institute (NCI). This data set includes some demographic, ancestral, clinical, and biomarker information on each participant within the study. Here we perform Pearsons pairwise t-test comparisons to report differences inn serum biomarkers levels.
THP1 Race Genes DAVID project
THP1 macrophages were cultured in media from African American vs European American triple-negative breast cancer conditioned media. Race-specific genes were isolated and fed through DAVID for Gene-Ontology annotations.
Identification of "Race-Genes" in THP-1 Data
THP-1 macrophages were treated with AA vs. EA serum to form tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs). Cytokine stimulation mediates the polarization of M0 to M1 (mainly EA tumors) via LPS, IFN-g, and PMA. While the polarization of M0 to M2 (mainly in AA tumors) occurs via IL4, IL13, and PMA.
Diabetes Family Project - Biomarker Levels by Ancestry
Clinical biomarkers related to inflammation, liver damage, lipid, kidney, electrolyte, and basic demographic information were compared to levels of ancestry. Ancestry levels included West African, European, and Native American, grouped into low, mid, and high levels based on quartile separations.

"Stress" High-fat Diet Cell Line Model
RC43N/T Cell line derived from African American human prostate cancer patient. Cell lines were cultured in Keratinocyte Growth Medium (KGM) or serum-free media vs Dulbecco's Modified Eagle Medium (DMEM) or media with fetal bovine serum added.
