Spatial Clusters of IDZ in San Antonio (TX)
Change in Housing Stock vs. IDZ rezoning
This maps shows the relevance of the IDZ ordinance to the efforts of promoting infill growth in central areas of San Antonio, TX. Census tracts are colored based on the absolute change in the number of housing units, data that comes from the American Community Survey (ACS) 5 years estimates between 2017 and 2022. On the other hand, IDZ rezonings are colored in blue. It is clear that IDZ rezonings are, by design, concentrated in the core areas of the city that have seen the least increase in the number of housing units since 2017
