This notebook looks into the factors that affect the pitch count at which a manager pulls the starting pitcher from the game. In other words, I use survival analysis to attempt to model the behavior of an MLB manager: when do managers decide to relieve a starting pitcher? This assumes that the MLB managers make the correct choice of pulling starting pitchers, which is not always a true assumption.
