This document summarizes findings from the pilot periphyton monitoring project over the summer 2025. This study compared 2 methods of periphyton monitoring (eDNA and traditional microscopy) to assess whether the periphyton community could be used as indicators of stream health in King County streams and to evaluate which method, if either, was viable for future monitoring efforts.
