Technical Comments on Kyle Sheldrick’s Vitamin C Study Fraud Allegation
Using statistical analysis, medical fraud researcher Kyle Sheldrick has alleged strong evidence of fraud in a trial of Vitamin C for treatment of sepsis. This short note presents a re-analysis of the data flagged by Sheldrick using a simple significance test developed from first principles. Based on this analysis, the evidence for fraud seems significantly weaker than Sheldrick’s analysis indicates, and suggests there may be cause for reconsidering the allegation.
