Contextual Analysis of Academic Success for STAT Majors
Statistics is one of the major academic disciplines at the College of Science, Sultan Qaboos University. Academic success is achieved when a minimum grade is attained as determined in individual courses, otherwise a student will be under probation and ultimately may be discontinued. In this brainstorming session, we discuss contextual analysis by reviewing relevant theories to identify potential risk factors so as to derive appropriate recommendations for improved success of STAT majors.

Enhanced Data Visualization in R Using ggplot2
In this hands-on seminar presentation, we will learn how to use the R ggplot2
package to produce graphics for statistical data analytics. The grammar of graphics
will be introduced with examples. I will demonstrate how to use the elements of
the grammar by creating customized graphics. We will generate, customize, save and
export publication-ready statistical graphics.

Demystifying RStudio
Historical comprehension is a precursor to understanding language. Grammar, form and character are driven by planned algorithms and intended objectives. GUI and IDE are two important attributes of the RStudio for users and developers, respectively. I seek to assess both the past to understand the current designs and possibly predict the future RUsage.
